I don't have any writing skills, other than college essays, but I'm really interested in coming out with a book, and I thought a book of my favorite recipes is a way to start. Or can you tell me where to research this?I would like to create a recipe book, anyone know how I can get started?
You can start here. I did, but in spanish, i'm almost done with my book!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
MAGGII would like to create a recipe book, anyone know how I can get started?
Depends if you want to self publish or send out samples to book companies. If you send it out to (Random House, Wiley and Sons, Potter, etc their editors will either say they like it or send you a rejection letter.
First thing to do is to go the library or bookstore and get a book on writing and publishing a book so that you can understand how it works.
Capital-you need money to get things rolling
If you decide to self publish you need an editor to edit the book and look for mistakes. You will also need a photographer to take pictures.
You need to test the recipes on people who will be honest.
Color pictures sell cookbooks better!
If you self publish contact Lightning Source or IUniverse they will publish it for you.
There is a wonderful web site for people who want to write a book.

Give it a look.

Anything by the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Both have several recipe books plus free recipes on their websites.
Eating Well and Cooking Light are also great. They are both magazines and also have free recipes on their websites.
I found that Weight Watchers books are really good because they have got such good recipes in them like Chicken Tikka Masala now you wouldnt think you would be able to eat that on a diet now would you. Plus on there website they give you free recipes as well have a look i promise it is worth it.
any of the weight watchers books have great recipees in. I tend to make them as per the books, then add a few extra chilli's or herbs to give them more flavour if they need it the next time I make it. good luck with the diet.

I have a recipe book for Baking Bread?
But it calls for 1 package or 2 packages for yeast,
But how do I measure them out in tsp or tbspI have a recipe book for Baking Bread?
2 1/4 tsp Rapid Rise Yeast = 1 package Active Dry or 1 Cake fresh yeast.
3-4 Cups is WAY to muchI have a recipe book for Baking Bread?
I bake lots of bread items, and teach this to my middle school students.
1-2 tsps should do it. Bread is forgiving. Don't be afraid to let your tastebuds be a guide. No! Don't taste the yeast. Taste the product each time you make it, and make some notes about it. You'll improve with practice.

allrecipes.com has had a lot of them showing up in the last several months %26amp; each one recommends another yesterday they had Dog Treats One
cook lean hamburger or ground chicken or turkey, add a little salt and garlic powder, add chopped carrots and peas. Make a light gravy and add cooked rice blend together.
The chicken and turkey are healthier than the hamburger but it's your choice, just don't add flour to the gravy that would add more calories. The animals think they are getting steak. (joke)
I give my dogs chicken and rice.
I boil a couple of skinless chicken thighs for 10-15 minutes and then I cut up the cooled chicken and add to cooked white rice. I add a little of the chicken broth.
I have two chihuahuas and this lasts for a few days, so of course you would have to adjust it according to your dog(s).

Soup Recipe serves 4I am looking for a Vegetable Beef Soup recipe from an old Better Homes and Gardens recipe book.?
I love to make a vegetable beef soup. I use all of the items that you named plus the following celery, and depending on the total pot size of soup 1/2 cup of the dried vegetables or grains such as Lima beans, pearl barley and sometimes split peas. I cheat by adding a beef bouillon cube or two for flavour and a teaspoon or two of honey to remove the acidity. The dry beans add flavour as well as thicken the stock naturally. It is not from Better Homes and Gardens but basically most beef vegetable soups are similar.

it is a dessert recipe. its called puppy chow. you need:
9 cups of chex mix cereal [plain]
2 cups of peanut butter
half a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
one bag/box of powdered sugar
2 plastic baggies
aluminum foil
and 1 tablespoon of butter or margerine.
to make it you get a pan and melt the peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter together until it is smoothe. while that is melting you need to get out a big bowl and pour all of the chex mix cereal into it. put about a cup of the powdered sugar into one of the plastic baggies and set aside. when the chocolate is melted on the stove [with the penut butter and butter melted into it] mix that into the cereal [in the bowl] until all of the cereal is coated. pour out the bowl of chocolate covered cereal onto the aluminum foil. next take about an eighth of the cereal and put it into the baggie with the powdered sugar. close the baggie and shake until the cereal is evenly coated with the powdered sugar. take another piece of aluminum foil out and put the just coated cereal onto it [taking off any excess sugar] then put the cereal into the clean baggie [or another bowl if you would like] [its easier that way]. repeat with the powdered sugar until all of the cereal is coated. when that is done seal the container it is in [weather baggie or bowl (i use a bowl)] and place in a dry place.
once you have all of this done you have a delicius treat for you and your friends that will be an interresting conversation starter because of the look and name of the treat you have just made. it is also very easy and fun to make with children [if you have any] or friends for a fun night in..
hope you enjoy

Veggie soup in a crock pot is good you just put ur veggies in with chicken broth and tomatoe soup and let it cook slowly.
Pillsbury, Betty Crocker and also Taste of Home puts out small booklets each month that are sold at the check out line in grocery stores. They each put out a booklet a couple times a year that is dedicated to slow cooker recipes. You could do a search online at eBay and get some of them. I buy them and find them helpful. Taste of Home has great recipes that are fairly simple to make.
All three have websites to get free recipes off of too.
I think Kraftfoods.com and the Allrecipes.com has the best recipes and the plus side is they are free. I print out recipes from those sites all the time. Kraftfoods has a way to store your recipes in an online recipe box too. I think Allrecipe does the same thing. It makes it easier to find a recipe you already tried and liked. If you're like me I wind up misplacing the one I used the first time. LOL
just use a microwave.... it is much faster
Skip the book and go to http://allrecipes.com Just search slow cooker. There will be hundreds and they are free and Tried and True!

Where would I get a recipe book that would help me in making American recipes?
I totally agree with abuela Nany about allrecipes.com it is a terrific site. It is better than almost any other site out there because of the ratings, extensive reviews and details provided by other home cooks who have tried the recipes.
However, if you did want a ';book'; then try Good Housekeeping's Illustrated Cookbook. It's so cool because all the recipes are pictured in the front, so you know exactly what you're cooking and what it looks like when it is done. Right next to the picture it tells you how long it takes to cook it too. So you can look through the pictures and choose what you want to make... It's my all time favorite cookbook, mostly American and all the recipes I've tried in it have turned out well.
Good Luck!Where would I get a recipe book that would help me in making American recipes?
I'm a chef and would give a copy of this to a young bride as it's simple and ';classic';.
American Classics: see link.
This provides all the basics American kitchens are known for and no recipe is complicated or difficult to prepare. You'll get a mine of information on preparation and products - I paid $30 for my copy - this one is $10. Every recipe has been tested to perfection by cooking school instructor-chefs: onion rings, corn pudding, scallopped potatoes, tuna salad, potato salad, pizza, coconut cream pie, apple pie, baby back ribs.
To my way of thinking, it's pointless to prepare something if it isn't, basically, best way to do it. Once this is mastered then is time to consider variations if you're so inclined.Where would I get a recipe book that would help me in making American recipes?

Does anyone know of a wheat and dairy free recipe book that is child friendly?
Hi, my little boy has always had a dairy intolerance but has stopped eating so his dietitian wants me to exclude wheat from his diet too. I have been looking for recipes or books to try and get him to eat again but can't find anything suitable. They are all for adults or exclude other things like gluten. Any help is really appreciated!
Thanks xxDoes anyone know of a wheat and dairy free recipe book that is child friendly?
Any recipe that is wheat free does not have any gluten so it is ironic that you do not want wheat but you want gluten.
There are various wheat free cook books available for making kid foods. I just did a search and came up with this book. I hope this might help.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a>Does anyone know of a wheat and dairy free recipe book that is child friendly?
Gluten is part of wheat, and few recipes include other sources (rye, barley, spelt and a few other closely related grains), so it's almost certain that any wheat-free recipe will also be gluten free.
I'm not sure why you would want to include gluten whilst excluding wheat, as it is the gluten that is most likely to cause any problems.
I do not know of any recipes that are wheat free and not gluten free whether suitable for children or not.powder foundation

Magic Bullet recipes that aren't in the recipe book?
I have a Magic Bullet and have used it to make some of the recipes in the book... but I was wondering if anyone had any other MEAL recipes that aren't the in their book? (not drinks or smoothies)...Magic Bullet recipes that aren't in the recipe book?
Yay! Another Magic Bulleter. Yes, I make fresh salsa by putting in tomatoes, onion, half a jalepeno, 2-3 cloves of garlic and some cilantro. Then I have it with baked tortilla chips. Yum.
I also make a smoothie every morning. I have a Meal replacement shake that I use for extra protein and it's Orange Cream flavor so I make it with ice and water and 3-4 strawberries. It comes out so good and it tastes like it has ice cream in it. I have that for breakfast along with my yogurt.
My husband loves to make himself omelettes in it. 2-3 eggs, some kind of meat (even sometimes lunchmeat) cheese and a splash of milk. Onion (I keep a chopped up bag of onion in the freezer and he takes out what he wants) or fresh herbs. Then he fries it and eats it. He says it's good, but he adds too much onion for my taste.

Do you have a favourite recipe book you can recommend?
Or (like me), do you use pages torn from magazines?Do you have a favourite recipe book you can recommend?
'The Joy Of Cooking' is a very nice cookbook.
'The Settlement Cookbook' is even more of a classic, a book written early in the 20th Century. They tell you how to build a fire to roast beef in, how to butcher a hog and make soap, how to use ice for refrigeration. All the basics one would need to do 100 years ago or if one was creating a kitchen from scratch.
There a many good books relating to cooking, but 'The Settlement Cookbook' makes for better reading!

I really like the Joy of Cooking book. It has tons of easy to follow recipes for any kind of food you would want to prepare. I mostly use it for baking desserts and such, but it has recipes for all meals.
Hello:
I have been cooking ever since I was about 10 years old,and I have always loved the,';Better Homes and Garden,';cookbooks the best because even a beginning cook can understand and cook the dishes that are in that book. Other cookbooks tend to use cooking terms that only an experienced cook would know and understand. I still have my mom's Better Homes and Garden cookbook that she got as a wedding gift in 1971,and I still cook alot of the dishes that are in that cookbook because it is really good comfort foods!
Besides pulling recipes from lots of places like you do, I often refer to my Better Homes %26amp; Garden cookbook as well as Joy of Cooking.

The Greens Cookbook, Field of Greens Cookbook and Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone...all by Deborah Madison. I love these. The Greens/Field of Greens can seem daunting sometimes b/c she uses lots of fresh whole spices that she toasts and grinds, but you can cut all that out and use regular ground spices. I've never been disappointed!
Tofu is the easiest you can cook with. Here's an easy recipe for you to try. I got this cook book 3 years ago.

1 package (14 oz) Hinoichi Tofu, drained and cut into 5 pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
2 large ripen tomatoes, diced
1/3 cup chopped cilantro

450g / 1lb potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
Milk
Butter
Grated cheese
METHOD
In a saucepan add the cod fillets, smoked fillets, milk, water, peppercorns, lemon, bay leaf and thyme. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and cook for a further 8 minutes until the fish is nearly cooked. Strain, making sure to reserve the cooking liquid. Wait until the fish is cool and then skin and debone, flake into a bowl.
Melt the butter in a small pan and add the flour, stir continuously and cook for about a minute, add the milk/water mix that the fish was cooked in a bit at a time, stirring (or whisking) all the time to ensure there are no lumps, continue adding until you have made a white sauce. Add the parsley, and season with salt and pepper.
Meanwhile cook the potatoes until soft and then mash with the butter and milk, season to taste. Add the raw salmon to the cooked fish and then add the eggs, and white sauce mix together with a wooden spoon and then transfer to an oven proof dish. Preheat the oven to 200c / 400f. Spread the mash over the fish mixture ensuring it is evenly distributed, dot with some butter and sprinkle with grated cheese, cook for about 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown and the inside bubbling. Serve immediately with some broccoli.

When you print out the pages, put it away for at least 6 weeks. After that, take a red pen and go over it very thoroughly. Look for grammar, syntax, punctuation. Also, look at stuff you want to add or delete. There is no limit to how many times you edit
After the manuscript is perfect, time to shop for an agent (optional, but a great advantage). Buy a copy of the most recent Writer's Market or Literary Marketplace. Look for an agent that suits your manuscript needs. Once you've decided, send a query (or not, depending on the agency). If they wan't to see the manuscript, send it off. If they accept, you're ahead.
The same rule pretty much applies. Query, or not, and wait for a response. If they say yes, send the manuscript. If they agree, good job! Expect to see in in shelves in a few months
But expect rejection. Everybody gets it, just move on.

How does my Russel Hobbs breadmaker work.I have no recipe book and need a basic recipe.B?
Bought at a boot sale without book of instruction.
Model 4460-10 I need a basic recipe to get started,
other makers have vary.ing techniques ,so can any one help? How does my Russel Hobbs breadmaker work.I have no recipe book and need a basic recipe.B?
With most Bread makers, you just dump in the ingredients and push the on button. There are many bread machine recipes available online with a simple yahoo search. One result I found was at: www.recipeland.com/recipe/1754
I suggest you go to the company, and I'm sure they would be happy to send you an operation manual.
To contact the company you can visit: http://www.russellhobbs.com/contact/How does my Russel Hobbs breadmaker work.I have no recipe book and need a basic recipe.B?
Go to the russel hobbs webb site and see if you can download. If not email russell hobbs and see if they will email them to you. I have he Russell Hobbs Bread man Pro - good mahcine - Hope you enjoy using it.

I'm sure they will have a website.
Most appliance manufacturers have websites, the recipe book might be online, if not, there will be a contact us section. Do that.
The other thing is many bread flours have recipes ';for breadmakers'; on the pack nowadays.
Also, you could try posting your question again in the right section, this is books and authors. (Although saying that, most people answering in this section could point you the right way.)
Are you living in the UK?
I make my own bread but prefer making rolls, utilising my breadmaker for just making dough.
I've found ';Wrights'; flour to be the simplest and best brand to use, and you simply add water.
Most bread flours, over here anyway, have instructions on making bread, even in a bread machine.
A little pointer in making the dough rise : Cover and put on top of a tumble dryer, or in the oven @60 degrees.

You have to check to make sure you have all the ingrediants. After you read the book, check your skill journal and scroll down to see what ingrediants it needs, then check your sims' fridge to see if you have what you need.

Does anyone know the name/company of this recipe book?
I used to subscribe to a recipe book of sorts. Every month they would send out a packet of new recipes and I'd pay something like $4.95 for the packet. When I originally subscribed, they sent out a binder and some starter recipes to begin my collection. I've since lost the recipe book but would like to find out of the name of the company. I've googled it but still can't find what I'm looking for. Does anyone out there know the recipe subscription I'm talking about? It was something like Creative Cooking and even had a section in the binder on making your own food gifts...Thanks to all who help!!Does anyone know the name/company of this recipe book?

I did that for all my daughters %26amp; granddaughters for Christmas! It came out really good too! You can download 50 recipes (with comments) and your own photo for the cover. The link was Key Ingredient ... or maybe KeyIngredient:) I think they were $11 for 1, but since I got 8 books, they were about $8 each.... You can download the recipes, or send them hard-copy. I had a little difficulty, at first, figuring it out, but the person there was extremely helpful too.....There was no shareware/hardware involved in this either...AND I received them within a WEEK! ... I'm thinking of doing Volume 2 now:)Creating a recipe book online?
Mealmaster has been around as shareware for many years. I think I've had it since about a year after it came out (early 90s?). Since the last couple of upgrades, there has been a charge for it. It's inexpensive, easy to use, but not fancy.
http://www.mealmaster.com
If you want something that looks fabulous though, you will have to spend more bucks. Costs money for those features.

Is there a recipe book for people with gout?
My husband has been diagnosed with gout and the list of foods you're not supposed to eat is quite lengthy and the list of foods you are allowed is very tiny! Help! I am also diabetic so this will be interesting. Thanks! Is there a recipe book for people with gout?
Typically, a gout cook book will recommend that gout patients need to reduce their sugar and carbohydrates intake. According to research, sugar actually increases the amount of uric acid in the blood, which can easily cause gout to develop. In addition, sugar consumption has been linked with many disorders such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Hence, most gout cook books will advise us to avoid high sugar content food like cakes, biscuits, pastries, ice-cream or chocolate.
Another tip from the gout cook book is to stay away from processed or pre-packaged food such as cornflakes. This is because salt is commonly used as a preservative in such cases and will produce excessive uric acid in the blood. If there鈥檚 a need for flavoring, you can try to use herbs or spices instead.
If you wish to find out more about gout receipes or gout cook book, read abt them here:

Avoid or restrict foods high in purine (a substance that produces uric acid when broken down). These foods include: sardines, anchovies, brains, liver, kidneys, tripe, sweetbreads, tongue, shellfish (mussels and oysters), fish roe, scallops, peas, lentils, beans and an excessive amount of red meat.
Drink 10 to 12 eight-ounce glasses of non-alcoholic fluids daily

What is the best hot chocolate recipe book out there?
I'm looking for an original hot chocolate book for the holidays. Can anyone help me out? What is the best hot chocolate recipe book out there?
I do not know about a book but here are some good recipes
MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE
1 entire circle of Abuelitas brand chocolate
4 wholes cinnamon sticks
1 cup sugar
marshmallows if desired
Place the cinnamon sticks in a microwave dish with water and heat in microwave.
Allow the water to become very hot - to a boiling point. Turn off microwave and allow the cinnamon sticks to steep in the water until the water is cinnamon colored.
Once done, place the water (hot) in the blender and add the entire circle of Abuelitas chocolate and the cup of sugar.
Blend on high so it will get foamy. Once the chocolate is dissolved, just pour it into cups and top with marshmallows. You can add more or less sugar to taste as desired.
This recipe is much better than American hot chocolate.

SARAH'S BEST HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. milk
a bit of vanilla, if desired
Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Heat it on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the paste from sticking to the pan. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk and vanilla. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature.

WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE
2 oz. milk chocolate, for garnish
12 oz. high-quality white chocolate, coarsely chopped
6 c. whole milk
2 c. heavy cream
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
peppermint sticks, for garnish
whipped cream, for garnish
(be sure to use a top-quality white chocolate to ensure the best flavor, such as Barry Callebaut white chocolate chunks, baking bars or Schokinag white chocolate baking chunks)
Using a vegetable peeler, shave milk chocolate into curls; set aside.
Place white chocolate in a medium heat-proof bowl; set aside.
Place milk and cream in a medium saucepan set over medium heat until bubbles begin to form around edges of pan, about 4 minutes. Immediately pour mixture over white chocolate.
When chocolate begins to melt, stir to combine. Whisk in vanilla. Continue whisking until a light foam forms.
Serve immediately, garnished with peppermint sticks, whipped cream, and chocolate curls.
Makes 8 cups

PEPPERMINT HOT CHOCOLATE
hot cocoa mix
peppermint sticks (candy cane)
mint extract
Prepare hot cocoa the way you normally would, then add mint extract (to taste) and mix. To serve, add a scoop of whipped cream and put a peppermint stick in the middle.
Cook's Note: Creme de Menthe liqueur can be substituted for mint extract and may also be whipped into the whipped cream for extra flavor. Enjoy!

Is this it? I guess you could substitute the carrots for the corn and omit the sweet potatoes.
Sausage Hot Pot
Ingredients
2 medium potatoes, sliced
2 carrots, sliced
1 medium sweet potato, sliced
8 -10 sausages, cooked - cut into bite sized pieces
2 tins creamed celery soup
Method
1 Make a layer of potato in the bottom of the crock pot.
2 Then make a layer of carrot and sweet potato.
3 Put in the sausages and pour over the soup. I used about a 录 cup of water to swirl out the last of the soup from the tin.
4 Put in the Crock Pot and cook for 8 to 10 hours on low OR 4 to 5 hours on high.
Notes
You could try other vegies - zucchini, onion etc

Staci - Ashburn, VA
Sausage Corn Chowder 1-2 lbs sausage, hot or mild depending on your families tastes and if they are big meat eaters or not, browned, crumbled, drained 4 cups cubed frozen hashbrowns or 4 cups cubed potatoes 1 can corn, drained 1 can creamed corn 1 can evaporated milk (may use low fat) 2 cups water 1 T minced onion (dried is fine, use a bit less then) pepper to taste Dump in crock pot, stir well, cook all day on low or half a day on medium. Serve with grated cheese, oyster crackers, or spicy Cheez Its if you like it hot. Serves 6 plus, depending on appetites. Even better the next day and seems to freeze well also Kat in KS

Is there any way to make your own recipe book or compile all of your recipes on the internet?
I have all types of recipes written on cards, ripped out of magazines, etc. Is there any way to put them all together on the internet? Is there any way to make your own recipe book or compile all of your recipes on the internet?
I scan and save them.Is there any way to make your own recipe book or compile all of your recipes on the internet?
YES! I have 2 ways of keeping my recipes. I have what I call my kitchen bible that I keep in my kitchen. Basically it is a book with blank pages, just lines to write on. When I find a good recipe that I have tried and want to keep for future use I add it to my book. When My children get out on there own I intend to give each a kitchen bible of there own with some of the recipes that they like already in it, and plenty of room for them to add their own threw the years. On my computer I also have a file just for recipes, I save all the recipes that sound good and I want to try in this file. I also put a rating system on them after I try them or add notes. It is easy access and oh so easy to print off for my friends and family when they ask me for my recipes for certain things. Have fun!
You can buy programs that will compile them for you if you type them in. They organize them, and then you can search. It's actually really cool. I am not sure of the name of it, but my father in law has something like it.
If they are on cards and ripped out of magazines, use stick glue to put them on plain paper and use a 3-hole punch to put the pages in a notebook and organize the pages like any other cookbook--appetizers, barbecue, cakes, cookies, eggs, etc. That's what I do, anyways, with all the handwritten and magazine recipes. If they are handwritten by a grandparent that has passed away, I scan them and put them on disc to save their handwriting and preserve the original in those laminating sheets you can get at any office supply store. If you use the computer or go online to save all those recipes, you will have to hand type every recipe in order to upload it anywhere, unless you have recipes copied and pasted online somewhere...
Your best way is to have a program and store it on your computer first! Then you can upload to the internet on your website.
My advice--only type of the ones you have tried and would make again. Don't just type of ones out of magazines. Not worth your time.
I use Mastercook.
You can create a blog and use it for your recipes. Here on yahoo or any number of sites.

Do you think I can make a lot of money from publishing a recipe book?
I want to publish a recipe book on casseroles that I've created.Do you think I can make a lot of money from publishing a recipe book?
Honey I finished writing my cookbook manuscript in Jan and found out this morning that it will be publish in Sept. Email me and I'll send you the Publisher's contact info and my editorial director's email.Do you think I can make a lot of money from publishing a recipe book?
yes if your recipes are good.....i love casseroles
Depends on how good the recipes are. I dont know how appealing a casserole cookbook would be. I'm a chef and love cookbooks. I dont think I would purchase a casserole cookbook though. I look for interesting, new recipes that Ive never heard of or find in restaurants. Stuff like foreign dishes. Casseroles just dont cut it for me. But good luck. Let me know the name and I'll keep a look out for it. If its appealing I may even buy it!
Are you going to include ';cooking for ONE'; with proper recepes.
send me the info I'll buy one.
but if you cooking for 4,, forget it
You may be able to make money from it. Most families now have both parents working and there are many single parent homes. These people love single dish dinners. You might want to try putting basics into the cookbook too - things such as how long to cook eggs (soft, hard, etc.), how long and at what temperature to cook various meats. Many people need to know these things.
Personally, I don't collect or have a lot of cookbooks. However I would buy one that had other things in it too. I don't cook very often being single and sometimes I need to refresh my memory on the basics.
A good idea might be to put in suggestions on how to use casseroles, such as for work potlucks, assembling a casserole in the morning to pop in the oven in the evening, etc.
No, there are already plenty of cookbooks around, if you have a very unique recipe send it to the food section of your local news paper and you will be proud to see is published.
Starting an small business is hard. I am also trying start a cake business. I recommend joining your local church and trying do as many samples as you can from your book. Also go your local independent business and try to promote your self that way setting a both and offering samples to people also offer your book at a special price. Also volunteering at local chamber of commerce they might have a man who cook event that would be great for you to take part in. GOOD LUCK
There are so many casserole cookbooks out there. You would have to come up with an idea to make yours stand out though.
There is definitely a need for a cookbook with good ol' fashion casseroles and good ol' down home cooking for people that are just starting out cooking. Such as young couples

Where can I get a recipe book published in NZ?
I am making a recipe book for a GATE project, and am considering going to a publisher to see what they think. Can you recommend a publisher? Also, are there any good book printers around?Where can I get a recipe book published in NZ?
You might want to self-publish your recipe book. It is actually a smarter way to publish a book that falls under a specific niche (poetry, photo book, cookbook, etc) because it allows you to cater to your target readers at the same time enable you full creative control of your book.
If you want to learn more about self-publishing, please check out this site:

Any ideas for making a recipe book with my students?
I wanna make a special recipe book for my students with recipes they can make with their mums. I ask from each child to bring a recipe and then we ll make the book. I was thinking of making an index and the cover for each child that will colour it. So what else u think i would include?
- Any recipes from me?
- A nutrition introduction?
- Some healhty recipes ? (any suggested links?)
I ll appreciate any ideas. Even a good recipe u think i should definetely include!
Thx so much in advance!:)Any ideas for making a recipe book with my students?
My kids did this in school. One year the teacher had them bring a recipe with a special meaning, Including a paragraph to tell why the recipe was special. Some of the stories were touching. ( I would bake these cookies with my grandma beofre she died) Some were funny (my mom made this for company and dropped it. It splattered all over the kitchen)
I like the idea of asking other members of the faculty to contribute too!Any ideas for making a recipe book with my students?
Why not get all the faculty to add a recipe to your book?
Maybe add the food pyramid?
My son's class did one when he was younger and because of the diverse races and religions in the class, they each submitted a typical recipe of thier nationality, a family picture whether colored or an actual photo a blurb under the picture explaining typical daily life and names of each family. Then all the recipes were copied so that each child had one to take home as well as the cover art they, themselves produced. The coolest thing was that at least one parent attended a luncheon and brought that dish they submitted the recipe for. It was great. Everyone got to try the foods, and see that we are not all that different from each other and yes, I'm sure one of your family recipes should be included.
Have fun with it.
You've been given some good suggestion. But I have some questions for you.
Will this be a self-published book or professionally published?
How many kids, and recipes will you have in the book?
Unless you plan to have several hundred recipes, I believe it will be much cheaper to Self-Publish. You can get binding at Office Depot at a very modest charge.
Having some nutrition info, and a conversion chart are good ideas, as is having recipes contributed by other teachers and yourself. Just be sure the teacher recipes are kid friendly.
You might consider taking some photos of your kids cooking to use on section dividers and the cover.
I also suggest you save all the recipes and have your class add to them on an annual basis. In the next few years, you might accumulate enough recipes to justify professional printing and widespread sales.

cheese cake--- Items needed--- 12-13 in. Spring form pan, two 8 oz containers of sour cream, Five 8 oz packages of cream cheese ROOM TEMPERATURE.... 2 eggs, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1 and 1/3 cups sugar, 1 package of gram crackers OR vanilla waffers and 1/3 stick of MELTED butter.
1. Crush gram crackers or vanilla waffers in a food processor until they are a coarse powder... mix in 2 tsp of sugar and melted butter... mix until butter is blended with crumbs... PRESS into bottom of the spring form pan... set aside...
2. In a large mixing bowl, put room temp cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla, and 1 cup of sugar... after mixing---taste-- if not sweet enough add more sugar to taste---mix until cream cheese is smooth and thickly creamy---place in spring form pan on top of crumb mixture. TAP sides of pan to make sure cream cheese is disbursed evenly in the pan and put on the middle rack of a 375 degree oven for 15 minutes---
3. Reduce heat to 325 for an HOUR or until sides of top turn a LIGHT golden brown...turn oven off and let cheese cake sit for at LEAST another hour in the oven while it cools.. (this helps to eliminate cracking on the top.
4. Once cooled to room temp, place in refrigerator--wait at LEAST two hours or more before serving... top with pinaples, strawberry jam, APPLE filling, or chocolate sauce and serve or just serve plain....
You could make a page for SUBSTITUTIONS---for example if a recipe calls for SHORTNING, what could be used to substitute--- there are HUNDREDS of substitution ideas on the internet... what to use instead of eggs, etc...
another easy recipe: Chicken %26amp; Rice
ingredients:. One can each of Cream of celery, cream of mushroom, cream of brocolli and cream of chicken soup. One to 1 and 1/2 cups of UNCOOKED instant rice (ie Minute rice is what I usually use), boneless breast of chicken--3-5 breasts depending on the size of the breasts... one 9X13 pyrex or metal backing dish...
pour rice into bottom of backing dish. Pour soups together in a big bowl and mix till all are blended and then pour that mixture over the rice and stir so all the rice is coated with soup... cut chicken into 1 inch pieces and line the top of the mixture with the chicken ---place in a 325 degree oven for 45 minutes to an hour----dish is done when the top is a VERY LIGHTLY GOLDEN color.. .. Sounds awful---tastes great!!!! and very easy to prepare...
How old are the kids?
I think a nutriction introduction would be good for middle school and below. One thing that's ALWAYS helpful, though, is measurment conversions in the front.
And recipes from you is a great idea. That way, you've contributed exactly what they were required to. :)

Does anyone know of a Jose Tejas recipe book? Or a recipe for how to make their fajitas?
In New Jersey (and other places too, i believe it is a chain) there is this amazing mexican/tex-mex restaurant called Jose Tejas. They have the most amazing beef fajitas I have ever tasted in my entire life, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the recipe and try and make those mouth-watering fajitas myself. Do they sell a cookbook or something?Does anyone know of a Jose Tejas recipe book? Or a recipe for how to make their fajitas?
Beef Fajitas
8 Tortillas
2 tb Vegetable oil
1 Garlic clove, minced
1 md Onion, thinly sliced
1 md Green or red pepper, slivered
1 lb Beef steak, in thin strips
1 tb Chili powder
1 tb Lime juice
1 tb Pickled jalapeno peppers
1/2 ts Cumin
Ingredient notes:- Beef steak should be sirloin,
flank, or round. Pickled jalapeno peppers should be
chopped and may be omitted if not desired. Toppings
for fajitas are a personal choice. Suggestions: Salsa,
chopped tomatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, guacamole,
sour cream, shredded lettuce.
Variations: for chicken fajitas, omit beef and use 1
lb skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into thin
strips. Saut鈥?for 3 to 5 minutes or until no longer
pink. Directions: Wrap stacked tortillas in foil. Bake
at 350F(180C) for 5 minutes
or until warm. In large skillet, heat 1 TB oil over
medium-high heat. Cook and stir garlic, onion and
sweet pepper for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender.
Remove from pan. Add remaining oil to skillet. Brown
beef, about 2 minutes. Stir in chili powder, lime
juice, jalapeno peppers and cumin. Return vegetables
to skillet and heat through. Spoon meat mixture onto
centre of each tortilla, top with desired toppings.
Fold up bottom edge, then roll up.
Or try this Mexican Tex-Mex One:
1 lb. skirt steak trimmed or flank steak
Marinade:
juice of 1 lime
2 T. oil
2 garlic cloves
1/2 t. ground cumin
1/2 jalapeno, seeded
1/4 C. chopped cilantro
Blend marinade ingredients in a food processor or blender.
Marinade meat for 30 minutes.
Grill or pan fry the steak over high heat for 3 minutes per side or desired doneness. Let sit 5 minutes.
Slice meat across the grain into thin pieces.
Serve immediately with cheese, tomatoes, grilled onion, grilled green pepper, guacamole and warm tortillas.
Serves 4
Skirt Steak
Cut from the beef flank, the skirt steak is the diaphragm muscle. It's a long, flat piece of meat that's flavorful but rather tough. Properly cooked, skirt steak can be quite tender and delicious. It can either be quickly grilled, or stuffed, rolled and braised.
You may have to call around to find it, but your butcher should be able to get it for you. It is rarely seen in super- markets. Today, due to the popularity of the Fajita, restaurants get most of what is produced.
