-Must be available in the U.K
-Have some vegetarian dishes or at least dishes that can be adapted
-Contain normal meals, e.g lasagne, roast, pasta, veg.
- No fancy river caught salmon with caramelized caviar on a bed of wild grown asparagus type dishes.
- EASY TO COOK-BECAUSE I CANT COOK!!!! hence I'm trying to learn lol
Any suggestions welcome and all help appreciated, Thanks :]Could you recommend a basic recipe book?
I've got the Good Housekeeping 1001 Recipes - it's BRILLIANT! Recipes from fairly basic to complicated, weeknight meals, baking, dinner parties, basics like making stock and how to cook pasta... It's really really good, and all the stuff I've made from it so far (I've had it since Christmas) has been delicious. Has a pretty good vegetarian section and some lovely vegetable side dishes as well, and has a good mix of cultural influences, and is good with suggesting substitutes if you don't have them.

My favorite is ';How to Cook just about Everything'; You should be able to get it from Amazon.com
I don't buy pancake mix anymore because it reminded me of how simple and healthy things are to cook
Joy Of Cooking- It was given to me 40 years ago %26amp; I still have %26amp; use it on a regular basis. There are updated versions available.
betty cocker! haha
I have Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook(available at Costco). I have given copies of it to my UK children and they love it. The recipes are simple and easy to follow. It even has pictures to demonstrate how to do things. You can also find BHG recipes on-line. They even have a vegetarian section.

My next suggestion is just try ready meals from your local Supermarket - you don't have to know how to cook to do a ready meal. Good luck.
Le Cordon Bleu's book on ';COOKING';.
It has all the basics you need to know.
The Joy Of Cooking
I bought a cookbook last year from our local Walmarts store. It is the best cookbook I have ever bought. ( I buy a lot of cookbooks, because I like trying new dishes. I have around 40 books) Anyways this book is great! Everything I have prepared out of it has been great. Most recipes are easy and made with Ingredients you buy from your local grocery store. The name os the book is: FIX-IT and ENJOY IT! cookbook All purpose recipes. I also have the FIX-IT and ENJOY-IT! for slowcookers and they have one out for vegetarians! If you can find this book in the UK, grab it up. Im sure you will enjoy it as much as I do.
